If the idea of being photographed all day makes you feel a little awkward — or if you’ve already said “we’re so not photogenic” — you’re not alone.

Most of the couples I work with feel exactly the same before their wedding day, especially those planning relaxed, meaningful celebrations across Worcestershire.

And honestly? You don’t need to know how to pose at all. As a Worcestershire wedding photographer, my role is to guide you gently, focus on real moments, and help you feel comfortable so your photos look natural, emotional, and completely you.

Before the wedding: calm, clarity & no pressure

From the moment you enquire, my role isn’t just to take photos — it’s to make you feel comfortable, confident and looked after.

I’ll help you:

  • Understand how wedding photography actually works

  • Build a relaxed timeline that allows space to breathe

  • Feel prepared without being overwhelmed

There’s no pressure to perform, no expectations to “act natural” (because that’s not helpful), and no awkward instructions.

Just honest guidance and a calm presence.

On the day: gentle guidance, not stiff posing

If you’re worried about posing, here’s the truth:

You won’t be asked to stand still and smile at the camera for hours.

My approach is very natural and documentary-led, with soft direction when needed. Think:

  • Walking together instead of standing still

  • Small prompts rather than fixed poses

  • Moments that unfold naturally, with me quietly guiding when it helps

I’ll tell you where to stand, what to do with your hands, when to move — but in a way that feels easy and human.

Most couples say something like:

“That was nowhere near as awkward as we thought it would be.”

That’s always the goal.

During couple photos: space to just be yourselves

Your couple portraits aren’t about perfection — they’re about connection.

I’ll give you:

  • Space to talk, laugh and breathe

  • Simple prompts that create real moments

  • Reassurance if you feel unsure

You don’t need to look at the camera.

You don’t need to know your angles.

You don’t need to be “good at photos”.

You just need to show up as you are.

The rest of the day: quietly capturing the real moments

While you’re enjoying your day, I’ll be watching for:

  • The glances you don’t realise you share

  • The way hands find each other in nervous moments

  • The laughter, the emotion, the in-between moments

I blend in when things are happening and step in gently when guidance helps — so nothing feels forced, rushed or staged.

If this sounds like you, we’ll be a good fit

I’m probably the right photographer for you if:

  • You want photos that feel natural and emotional

  • You don’t love being the centre of attention

  • You value calm energy on a busy day

  • You care more about real moments than perfect poses

I might not be the best fit if:

  • You want heavily posed, editorial-style images all day

  • You prefer very rigid direction

  • You want every moment staged

And that’s okay — finding the right fit matters.

After the wedding: photos that feel like you

When you receive your gallery, my hope is that you don’t just see how your day looked — you feel how it felt.

The nerves. The joy. The quiet moments. The love.

Photos that feel timeless, honest and true to you — even if you never thought you were “photogenic”.

Based in Worcestershire, I photograph weddings across Worcester, the Midlands and beyond, capturing real moments in a calm, unobtrusive way.
